We couldn't be more thrilled to be hosting a very special reunion show featuring bluegrass artists Burnt Toast, on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9PM-MID. The reason this show is so special? Burnt Toast was the very first band to perform at Bullfrog Brewery after opening in August of 1996! Now, two decades later, the original members of Burnt Toast have come together for one last hoorah, and there's no place they'd rather perform than Bullfrog Brewery, because of a long-standing, deep connection with Williamsport, Bullfrog Brewery, and Bullfrog owner Steve Koch.

"Back in those days, and not long after they opened ... the Frog quickly became the place to play, because they were the biggest supporters of the live music scene," says Steve Belcher, bassist for the band. "Steve Koch and I immediately hit it off, especially since we shared a real passion for music, especially bluegrass. Now, here we are 22 years later, and the Bullfrog is still the staunchest supporter of live music in the region." Belcher also has an old connection to the Bullfrog's building itself, having worked for many years at one-time tenant Nippenose Sporting Goods back in the 1970s.

The members of Burnt Toast originally met at the famed Rooney Mountain Bluegrass Festival in the Catskills (NY) while performing with different acts. During a late-night 'jam' around a campfire, they felt instantly connected on both musical and personal levels, and unanimously decided to form a new band. Over many years, the band performed to rave reviews and a devoted fan-base, touring the nation and even Ireland ... but also over the years, as happens, the members eventually went on to perform with other renowned bluegrass artists, such as Vassar Clements, John Harrell, Frank Wakefield, The Hickory Project, The Flying Burrito Brothers, and Bill Keith, to name a few. Burnt Toast member and National Fiddle Champion Jeff Wisor also toured for over a decade with internationally acclaimed David Bromberg, as well as having recorded with Bob Dylan.

The impetus for the band reuniting is to honor original member and mandolinist Tom Hoover, who sadly passed in 2017, but the band members couldn't be happier about getting back together for the sheer enjoyment of making music together once again. The band features multi-instrumentalist Fred Lantz (mandolin, banjo, and dobro), bassist Steve Belcher, guitarist Danny Shipe, lead guitarist Noah Diehl, and fiddler Jeff Wisor. In what is certain to be an electrifying performance by these truly world-class musicians, the band couldn't be more excited to return to the Bullfrog to see old friends and make many new ones.

There will be a $10.00 admission fee for this special performance (must be 21+ to attend), and reservations are highly encouraged. Please call us at 570-326-4700 to make your reservation.
