Bullfrog Brewery is an award-winning, independent craft microbrewery, brewpub, eatery, and live music venue nestled comfortably in the vibrant heart of downtown Williamsport ... a city that is, itself, the cultural heart of scenic Northcentral Pennsylvania. Born of fortuitous circumstance and ambitious aspiration, we opened in August of 1996 with a committed 'focal on local' philosophy and a simple yet lofty goal ... to be the place that people need to spend time, to brew beers that people need to have in their life, to offer food that people need to eat, to offer live music that people need to hear, and to be the kind of establishment that our beloved staff need to work.


We strive daily to make a positive impression on the world while limiting our footprint on it, and we invite you to join us and help in the process by simply enjoying yourself here (or drinking our beers from afar). From the start, we chose our community-minded and farm-to-table approaches in what we serve you from both our taps and our kitchen because it truly matters to us. With each visit, you aren't merely supporting us ... you're supporting a community of locally-owned and operated, sustainably-run, environmentally and socially conscious businesses.     Beer


    We are dedicated to artfully and lovingly crafting the finest ales, lagers, and specialty beers imaginable, and we feature a continually rotating menu of staple, seasonal, and distinct craft brews ... blending old-world craftsmanship with a distinctly modern palette of flavors and ingredients, and at every opportunity endeavor to make use of local hops, berries, herbs, fruits, frogs (kidding!), or locally roasted, estate-grown coffees from our great friends at Alabaster Coffee Roaster & Tea Company of downtown Williamsport.


    Over the years, we have brewed and served up almost every style of beer cataloged, and even a few that aren't (well over 500 and counting). We have always had a penchant for showcasing 'Belgish' (Belgian-style) ales that, in our humble opinion, offer the drinker the most exciting and adventurous taste experience the world of beer has to offer. We are perhaps best known around the planet for our so-called 'sour beers' (as oft referred to) ... Belgian, Flemish/Flanders-style or Gueuze-inspired, barrel-aged (some tank-aged) American wild ales such as Le Roar Grrrz, Rood Bruin, Old Gold, or Jong Bruin ... as well as our tantalizingly tart, fruited farmhouse wheat or our quenching, tastebud-tickling, and champagne-esque Funny Farmhouse fermented cider. But, we by no means limit ourselves to those brewing traditions alone, as we always enjoy having fun with our frothy offerings to you. Because ... well ... beer is fun!


    Our noteworthy beers have won many prestigious awards and accolades, including Gold & Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival and Gold & Silver medals at the World Beer Cup. Bullfrog Brewery has twice been honored by RateBeer.com, ranking us among the Top 100 Brewers In The World for 2016 and 2018 (from among over 22,000 brewers worldwide), as well as also garnering 7 of the Top 25 Beers Brewed In Pennsylvania. We are also incredibly proud to have our Le Roar Grrrz Wild Ale ranked as the #6 Gueuze in the world by BeerAdvocate.com.     In 2013, we began full-on production brewing at our second facility here in Williamsport (just a couple of hops away from our brewpub), and Bullfrog beers are now available to establishments across the mid-Atlantic region. You'll find our beer on tap at discerning pubs & restaurants in the greater Philadelphia and Pittsburgh regions, across Pennsylvania, and in Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland, and other areas. We also occasionally offer special bottle releases ... typically of our highly-praised, barrel-aged wild ales like Le Roar Grrrz or Rood Bruin ... which find craft beer connoisseurs from across the country gathering

    FOOD


    Our dining menus offer a variety and quality of food beyond compare in the area, as we have proudly created them with a dedicated 'farm-to-table' approach ... because we care not only about the excellence of your dining experience, but also the healthfulness of your meal. Sourcing seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as locally-pastured animals, enables us to create truly delicious menu items celebrating the unique flavors of our region. We wholeheartedly believe in supporting local farmers and businesses, working together toward a stronger local economy, and our relationships with local producers continue to grow as we discover more and better ways to incorporate their tasty, wholesome foods into our menu for you.


    With our extensive menus, you’ll discover delightful entrees, as well as daily lunch, dinner, and soup specials. We also offer the best in sandwiches, burgers, wings, appetizers, and other tasty pub fare, and our specialty menus have been thoughtfully created to meet the discerning needs of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-sensitive diners. You’ll especially enjoy our renowned Sunday brunches (served from 9AM-2PM), which not only feature unique weekly specials, but also live music from noon until 4:00PM with our 'Sunday Jazz Brunch Workshop' ... when world-class musicians in an 'open mic' environment thrill your ears while we treat your taste buds. And, we even offer a 'Tadpole Menu' for the little Frogs in your family.


    While some of you may have to travel a bit to get here, the ingredients in your meal don't. Our beef is procured from Misty Mountain Farm in close-by Trout Run, PA. Their sustainably-run practices yield the most flavorful beef imaginable for our burgers, steaks, and brisket. Hogs sourced from Beaver Run Farm of nearby Turbotville allow us to produce the most savory sausages and kielbasa in-house, as well as providing us our bacon, ham, and pork. We endeavor to feature the area's freshest organic vegetables at every opportunity as well, procuring local produce and mushrooms from Tewksbury Grace Farm of Muncy, and delectable mixed greens from Beech Grove Farm of Trout Run that are included in every salad we create for you. Our salmon comes to us from locally-based Wild For Salmon, caught fresh in Alaska and flown in overnight! Even our buns and rolls come from Lycoming Bakery of Williamsport and our pretzel buns come to us from David's Awesome Pretzels of Mifflinburg.


    When it comes to your dining experience, the Bullfrog Brewery’s goal is to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. We are the definition of 'casual,' very family-friendly, and there’s never a need to hurry here. Our hosts, servers, and bartenders are laid-back, ever-cheerful, and ready to help make your experience at the Bullfrog a memorable one.

    LIVE MUSIC

    Along with loving great beer and food, we adore live music. One of Williamsport's longest-standing, most dedicated supporters of original live music, Bullfrog Brewery regularly showcases the very best in national, regional, and local talent canvassing myriad genres ... rock, blues, jam, bluegrass, alternative, reggae, ska, jazz, Americana, electronic, indie, world, and more. The Bullfrog features live music most Friday or Saturday nights (typically starting at 9PM), and special musical treats on many Sunday, Monday, and Thursday evenings as well (usually at 8PM).


    We have hosted countless, phenomenal acts since our inception, including such well-known artists as Galactic, Cabinet, Robert Walters, Los Straightjackets, Mike Dillon, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, The Mulligan Brothers, Keller Williams, Lake Street Dive, Ryan Montbleau, Jimkata, and Grammy-nominated Melissa Reaves ... world-class blues artists like Dave Keyes, Tas Cru, Bob Margolin, E.G. Kight, the late Ben Andrews, David Miller & The Other Sinners, and Ramblin' Dan Stevens ... traveling-through gems such as Keith Kenny, The Right Now, Bombadil, Bjorn Jacobsen, The Jonathan Scales Fourchestra, Ethan Keller, Flux Capacitor, Wobblesauce, Scott Pemberton, MiZ (Mike Mizwinski), Roxy Roca, and The Dusty 45s ... and of course, there's our incredible and beloved regional royalty such as Nate Myers & The Aces, Lumpy Gravy, Andy Mowatt, Doug McMinn, Royal Benson, Sean Farley, Moxie & Rebel, Dr. Slothclaw, Keystone Ska Exchange, Rogue Chimp, Vinegar Creek Constituency, The Tell Tale Signs, and so many more.
